We loved Matt’s home. Communication was prompt and check-in easy. This home is on the same farm property as the main house which was not rented out at our time of stay making our stay extra quiet. We especially loved the sitting room and wood fire hot tub. The super king bed with higher end mattress in was an absolute treat!! Would not hesitate to rent again or recommend to others.

We stayed with our little kids and they loved it.
The projector room and huge couches a massive hit.
We were able to be in the kitchen cooking with them next door.
Our baby monitors also stretched to each of the bedrooms…just.
Being January, we didn’t quite make the use of the garden and hot tub as we might have liked.
Beds all really comfy and kitchen very well equipped.
The usual puzzle of trying to operate an unfamiliar induction hob, but all good otherwise.

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful home. The views were absolutely amazing, and it’s the perfect place if you’re looking for somewhere peaceful, private, and cosy. The property was easy to find and check-in was very straightforward. The host was brilliant and super responsive throughout our stay. The house was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed, making it ideal for our family. It’s also conveniently located, not too far from the nearby towns. Thank you for a fantastic stay!

Great place for a quiet getaway. The four of us and our dog really enjoyed the week and went through a good amount of the plentiful wood with the fire and hot tub. It took a it of fine tuning to get things right with the temperature of the latter and we were really pleased to have come equipped with a digital thermometer. Maybe something to consider providing for future guests. We cooked for ourselves all week and bought a couple of extra pans since the kitchen was a bit sparsely equipped but otherwise managed fine. It was too cold to bother with the projector outside but we still had plenty of fun and would recommend it to others.

This cottage is honestly so beautiful with the rolling hills in all directions! Perfect get away if you want to get some peace and quiet. The cottage has plenty of space and a great outdoor area too. Only thing I would note is if your dog is an escape artist like ours you wouldn’t be able to let them off in the back garden! Matt was very responsive and super helpful! I would highly recommend!!

Very beautiful location and interior. Loved the art and great record collection. The beds were very comfortable, the house was cosy and relaxed whilst being really well fitted out and lovely. We loved the peace, the hot tub, the sun room with log burning stove, the huge couches and the space (we were a family of 8). Had a wonderful stay and would definitely love to return.

This a a stand out property because the location is beautiful, the peace and tranquillity made it really special. The dark skies meant we were able to star gaze and by day we enjoyed a bit of bird spotting. We loved the feel of the property, homely but carefully curated to make each space feel cosy and premium. The bathing facilities are the best we have yet experienced anywhere. We came to tour around but didn't want to go out! This is a great place to spend quality time with loved ones. Thanks Matt, we would all happily return and recommend Hillockbrae without reservation. It exceeded our expectations...you really have thought of everything.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour chez Matt dans sa ferme ancienne soigneusement rénovée avec beaucoup de goût. Le logement est chaleureux, spacieux, fonctionnel, très bien équipé et très propre, avec une belle décoration. Le jardon est très agréable également, le hot tub est un vrai plus si vous aimez. L'environnement est calme et bucolique. Nous recommandons sans réserve!

We loved this farmhouse, especially the beautiful grounds and highly updated house. It was a real peaceful getaway for us after traveling all over Scotland for a week and a half.

We absolutely loved our stay at Hillockbrae Farm. The house is spacious, beautifully decorated, comfortable, charming, and well appointed. We had everything we needed for a three night stay. The grounds are also gorgeous. We loved the hot tub and strolling down the lane in the mornings, taking in the view. Matt was great to communicate with and check in was a breeze. I would highly recommend this AirBnb to anyone!
